weekendje zee - weekend at the beach

We hebben d'r een nieuw huisdier bij. Haantje. We hebben hem gered van de pot, bij ons kan ie lekker z'n leventje door en hopelijk hebben we volgend jaar kuikentjes.
Haantje is erg tam en Broc vind 't geweldig want de kippen zijn niet zo vriendelijk.
Meet Haantje our new pet. We saved him from the pot, at our place he can happily live free and hopefully he becomes friends with the chickens so we get little chickens next year.
Haantje is very friendly and Broc loves the fact that he can pet him.

Het is poppy z'n verjaardag en we gaan een weekendje naar hem toe. Als we aankomen is 't etenstijd en nemen we hem mee uit eten.
It's poppy's birthday and it's dinnertime by the time we get there so we take him out to dinner.

De volgende dag gaan we naar 't strand, maar eerst gaan we mee naar waar poppy werkt en terwijl hij daar doet wat ie doen moet voeren wij de vissen aan de jetty.
De vissen springen zo hoog uit 't water voor 't brood dat ze broc helemaal nat spetten.
The next day we go to the beach, but first poppy has to do some jobs so we go with him and while he does whatever it is he needs to do we feed the fish.
The fish jump so high out of the water to get to the bread they splat Broc wet.

Het is een lekkere warme dag en we hebben Broc z'n boogie board mee hij vind 't geweldig in de golven.
It's a nice warm day and we have Broc's boogie board with us. He loves it, can't get enough of the waves.

Het water is leuk maar 't zand zeker ook en natuurlijk zijn we voorbereid met Broc z'n zand speeltjes. Nu graven en zandkastelen bouwen.
The water is fun, but the sand is equally fun and we have Broc sand toys with us so we can dig and build sand castles.

De emmer voor de zand kastelen word al snel gebruikt om te pranken en voordat daddy 't in de gaten heeft krijgt een een emmer water over z'n hoofd.
The bucket for the sandcastles is quickly transformd into a water bucket and before daddy realises what is happening he is wearing a bucket of water.

Poppy vond 't erg grappig, maar Broc was voorbereid hij had nog een klein emmertje vol met water met poppy z'n naam d'r op.
Poppy thought that was very funny, but Broc was prepared and he had a little one ready with poppy's name on it.

Ff afkoelen dus Broc gaat weer 't water in en neemt z'n board mee.
Time to cool of so Broc takes his board and runs back into the water.

Mommy en daddy zijn erg onder de indruk want Broc heeft nog nooit zelf zo ver 't water ingeweest. Hij zegt zelf dat ie niet zo goed kan zwemmen, maar we blijven d'r goed bij en laten hem lekker z'n gang gaan.
Mommy and daddy are very surprised, he never goes this far in the water. He says himself "I'm not a very good swimmer", but we stay near and just let him go for it.

De monstertrucks hebben we ook bij en die maken awsum tracks in 't zand.
The monstertrucks love racing in the sand and they make awsum tracks.

We hebben een geweldig leuke dag en morgen gaan we weer.
We are having a great day and go back tomorrow.

Na 't strand gaan we gezellig lunchen en Broc heeft z'n favourite boterham, Bacon and eggs.
After the beach we go for lunch and broc has his favourite "Bacon and eggs".

laatste dagen bij 't kinderdagverblijf / the last days at daycare

Volgende week begint 't nieuwe schooljaar en dit jaar is Broc aan de beurd om naar school te gaan.

De juffrouw heeft een gezellig dagje gepland en ze doen vanallerande spelletjes voor Broc's laatste dag.

The new school year starts next week and this year it's Broc's turn to start school.

It's the last day at home day centre and the teacher has organised a whole day of fun and play with all the kids.

Broc en mommy zijn druk geweest met cakes and cupcakes voor traktaties en Ie en Cheesy (Broc's slaap tutje) waren de inspiratie voor 't lekkers.

Broc vind de kleine muisjes (Ie) geweldig.

Broc and mommy have been busy making cake and cupcakes to treat. Ee and Cheesy (Broc's sleep comforters) are the subjects we used, since he goes nowhere without them.

Broc loves the little mouses (Ee).

Alle kinders zijn blij met de cupcakes en vinden ze erg lekker.

Als mommy hem ophaalt zegt I eat Ee met een grote lach.

All the kids love the cupcakes and when mommy picks him up he tells her full of exitement how he eat Ee.

Omdat d'r zoveel meer kinderen en leraressen zijn op 't andere dagverblijf een paar dagen later hebben we een grote cake en cupcakes gemaakt, zodat iedereen die de laatste jaren voor Broc heeft gezorgd een stukje kan hebben.

Op de cake hebben we Ie en Cheesy in hun echte grote gemaakt van fondant.

Because there are a lot more kids and teachers at the other daycare centre we made a cake as well as cupcakes so everyone that has looked after Broc could have a piece.

This time we made a life size Ee and Cheesy from fondant to decorate the cake.

Een paar dagen later komen ze de water tank brengen. Hopelijk is die vol voordat we gaan bouwen.

A couple of days later they are delivering our water tank, hopefully it will be full by the time we move there.

Als daddy de schauffeur aan 't helpen is met z'n vrachtauto zitten wij in de auto wachten.

When daddy is helping the truckie we are waiting in the car.

eerste schooldag / first day of school

Vandaag is de dag, Broc gaat naar kleuter school.
Vol trots poseert ie met z'n nieuwe uniform.
Today is the day, Broc starts prep.
He is so proud to pose with his new uniform.

Broc moest ook een bieb book tas hebben dus mocht ie zelf uitzoeken wat stofje ie wilde zodat mommy hem een speciale tas voor z'n boeken kon maken.
Broc needed a library bag so he was aloud to pick the material he wanted and mommy made him a special library bag.

Mommy heeft vandaag vrij van 't werk genomen en blijft tot Broc is ingesetteld.
Alle kinderen verzamelen onder 't grote afdak om de dag te beginnen.
Als de hoofd lerares klaar is met praten vertrekken alle kinderen naar hun klas.
Broc z'n klas word in een rij gezet. 
Broc is erg verlegen en wil eigenlijk niet maar mommy zet hem langs Christel waar hij al een paar jaar mee naar 't kinderdagverblijf is geweest. 
Mommy took the day of work so she could stay till Broc was comfortable in his new class.
All the kids gather together to start the day.
When the head teacher is finished talking all the kids in Broc's class have to go in line.
Broc is very shy and doesn't really want to, but mommy puts him next to Christal who he already knows from his kindy class.

Als ze 't klaslokaal binnen zijn blijft ie bij Christel hangen en al snel worden d'r grapjes gemaakt.
When they go into their class room he stays with Christel and it's not long before he starts to make jokes.

Zo gauw d'r andere kinderen met ze mee gaan spelen ziet 't eruit dat 't tijd is voor mommy om te gaan. Een dikke kus en veel plezier.
It looks like it's time to go for mommy as soon as other kids join in.
A big kiss and have fun today.

Mommy en Daddy gaan hem alletwee ophalen en enthousiast komt ie naar buiten, hij heeft zo'n leuke dag gehad.
Both mommy and daddy are picking him up and as soon as he comes outside he tells us he had such a good day.

Als we vragen of ie een leuke lerares heeft zegt ie: "en weet je wat? Als miss Thompson mij iets vraagt doe ik gewoon dit".
When we ask if he has a nice teacher he says: "and you know what? When miss Thompson asks me something i just do this".

Later verteld miss Thompson hoe mooi dat ie lacht en hoeveel foto's ze wel al niet van hem genomen heeft. (ziet d'r naar uit dat ie die al mooi rond om z'n vingertje heeft). Die van ons is zo stom nog niet haha.
Later miss Thompson tells us what a beautiful smile he has and how many foto's she has already taken of him. (Looks like he has got that one wrapped around his finger already).

een nieuw neefje / a new cousin

We hebben d'r een nieuw neefje bij.
Ome sport en tante camera hebben een baby en natuurlijk willen we hem zo snel mogelijk ontmoeten dus gaan we naar 't ziekenhuis.
Broc vind 't erg spannend en kan niet wachten om z'n nieuwe neefje te ontmoeten.
Broc has a new cousin and we can't wait to meet him so we quickly head off to meet him and his happy new parents in the hospital.

Het is laat en 't nieuwe gezinnetje is erg moe dus gaan we naar poppy's huis, daar hebben we nog een verassing voor Broc.
Mommy en Daddy zijn op zoek geweest naar een quad bike voor Broc en Poppy heeft d'r een gevonden en die gaan we op halen.
Broc is zo blij met z'n nieuwe aanwinst en geeft Poppy een grote knuffel.
I'ts already late so we leave the new family for their rest and we head to Poppy's place.
Mommy and Daddy have been looking for a quad bike and Poppy found one and took it home, while we are here we pick it up.
Broc is so happy with his new wheels he gives Poppy a big cuddle.

Natuurlijk wil ie 'm meteen uitproberen en vol trots gaat ie d'r op zitten.
Broc want's to try it out of course and hops on it. He can't wipe the smile of his face.

veilig / safety

Nu dat d'r hard gewerkt word op ons stuk grond moeten we d'r natuurlijk wel voor zorgen dat Broc veilig rond kan.
Hij weet dat daddy hem niet goed kan horen als ie op 't graafmachientje zit en dat ie d'r niet achter door mag lopen, maar om d'r zeker van te zijn dat we Broc goed kunnen zien heeft mommy een veiligheids vest voor hem gekocht.
Hij wilde liever 'tzelfde shirt als daddy, maar die hadden ze niet in zijn maat, hopelijk kunnen we die ergens anders een vinden.
With all that heavy loud equipment around we want to make sure we can see Broc.
He knows he is not aloud behind the excavator and that he has to approach from the front, but to make sure he is well seen mommy bought him a safety vest.
He wanted the same shirt as daddy's, but they didn't have his size, hopefully we can get him one another time.

Nu dat ze alltwee goed te zien zijn kunnen ze aan de slag.
Now that they're both safe they can go back to work.

Thuis halen we Gran d'r cadeau voor de dag en gaan aan 't bouwen.
Broc wil een raket, dus die maken we ff een.
When we get home we grab Gran's present en start building a rocket.

Zo heb je 2 in 1 een raket en met een laken d'r overheen heb je een cubbie huisje.
And when you throw over a sheet you get a cubbie house, 2 for the price of 1, great.

fishy en zonnebloemen / fishy and sunflowers

Mommy heeft een mooie kom op een stuk stronk gekocht en we gaan 't opvullen met water en een vis.
Broc mag kiezen welke vis ie wil. Hij mag ook de naam kiezen en hij wil hem Fishy noemen.
Erg origineel (niet), maar goed 't is zijn vis.
Als we thuis komen gaat ie in z'n nieuwe huisje en Broc houd goed in de gaten wat ie doet.
Mommy bought a nice bowl on a log and we are going to buy a fish to put in it.
Broc can choose which fish he wants and he calls him fishy.
(very original) not, but that's ok it's his fish.
When we get home and put him in his new home Broc keeps a good eye on him

Fishy wil nog niet eten, maar hopelijk komt dat nog wel in een paar dagen als ie wat gewend is. Het is een erg mooi visje hij heeft mooie kleuren.
Fishy doesn't want to eat, but that's probably because he still has to get used to his new place.
He sure is pretty.

De zonnebloemen staan ook weer in bloei dus gaan we even een paddock opzoeken.
Als we aankomen wil Broc ruiken of ze lekker ruiken.
The sunflowers are back in bloom and we going to find a paddock.
When we find one Broc wants to smell if they smell.

De zonnebloemen zijn niet veel hoger dan Broc.
They are not much higher then Broc this year.

Ff pozeren op de paal, maar de vinger komt niet uit de mond en Ie en Cheesy wil ie ook niet in de auto laten die moeten mee op de foto.
Mommy is trying to get a nice shot of him leaning on the post, but he doesn't want to ditch the finger and neither wil he let go of Ee and Cheesy.

Dan gaan we samen ook nog eventjes en Broc is wel blij om dat te doen.
When we go on the photo together Broc is happy to smile.

2017

Het is oudjaars avond en we gaan naar de show ground. Daar is vanalles te doen om oud op nieuw te vieren.
We zitten op 't gras de entertainment te kijken.
The last day of the year has arrived and we are at the showgrounds where there is lots to do to celebrate the old and new year.

Broc springt op mommy d'r rug om te worstelen.
Broc jumps on mommy's back to wrestle.

Blijkbaar vind Broc aan de entertainment niet veel aan want hij blijft maar gek doen.
Broc mustn't like the shows, because he can't stop being silly en can't sit still.

Daddy pakt hem om een leuke foto te maken, maar Broc is niet in de mood.
Vanavond is 't gekke avond. 
Of zou Broc misschien te veel suiker op hebben ;)
Daddy grabs him for a picture, but Broc is still being silly.
He must have eating something with too much sugar lol.

Dan komt 't vuurwerk en ineens is ie still. Broc vind vuurwerk geweldig en kan d'r uren naar kijken.
And then it's time for fireworks and Broc calms down. He loves it and can watch it for hours on end.
