Wie had 't ooit gedacht / who would have thought

We zijn al meer dan 2 jaar op zoek naar een huis met een lap grond om te gaan wonen.
We willen graag achteraf wonen, maar kunnen niks gevonden krijgen wat we willen.
Onverwachts hebben we een stuk grond gevonden wat we helemaal geweldig vinden.
We blijven maar terug gaan en Broc vind 't geweldig om bij de dam rond te hangen.
We have been looking for over 2 years to find a new house, but no such luck, nothing is on the market that ticks all the boxes.
Finally through a friend we are going to have a look at a block of land that might be just right.
We really like it and keep going back to it to check it out over and over again.
Even Broc likes it there specially on the edge of the dam.

We wilde eigenlijk iets met een huis, maar we voelen ons zo thuis op dit stuk grond dat we hebben besloten om d'r voor te gaan en zelf te gaan bouwen. Op die manier hebben we ook meteen precies wat we willen.
Na lang wachten krijgen we eindelijk bericht terug van de bank.
Even tho we were looking for a house with land we like this piece of land that much that we decited to buy this. We didn't really want to build ourselfs, but since we couldn't find anything that did it for us we though at least when we build we have what we want.
After a long wait we hear back from the bank.

Nu dat de grond van ons is kunnen we aan de slag en als eerste laten we de grond testen wat voor klasse dat is zodat ze weten hoe ze 't huis moeten ontwerpen.
Now we own the land we are getting started straight away and we start with the soil test.

Het gat is gedrild en hij heeft de proefjes van 't zand in zakjes gedaan zodat ze in 't labaratorium kunnen kijken onder wat klasse 't valt.
Broc gaat 't gat eens ff bekijken.
De jongen denkt dat 't terug komt als een M (moderate) en dat is goed want dat houd in dat d'r geen extra hoge kosten komen voor de fundering.
The first hole is drilled and sampled, so Broc is going to check out the hole.

Op naar 't volgende gat en hier zie je de hoopjes zand die hij apart legt om te testen wat voor voor zand d'r op welke diepte zit.
While he drills the next hole he leaves little piles of dirt each are taken from a different depth so they can see what sort of soil is at the different levels under service.

ff een kijkje nemen / checking things out

We hebben veel regen gehad en blijkbaar stroomt de rivier die de dam opvult weer dus we gaan een kijkje nemen hoe hoog 't water is.
Hij is niet helemaal vol dus d'r zijn wat zand banken waar we op gaan spelen.
We have had a lot of rain and the rivier to the dam is floating again so we are going to check it out.
The river isn't full and the sand banks are sticking out of the water.

Daddy liet zien hoe je rotsen in 't water kunt laten stuiteren dus Broc wil dat ook doen.
Daddy shows Broc how to let the rocks skid over the water and he wants to give it a go.

Het water is erg koud maar daar geeft Broc niks om en terwijl mommy en daddy 't water over springen Broc loopt d'r gewoon door heen.
Mommy and daddy jump over the water, but Broc isn't afraid of a bit of super cold water and he just walks right through.

Volgend jaar gaat Broc naar school en om de kinderen d'r aan te laten wennen hebben ze een programma dat PIPPA's heet. Elke donderdag neemt 't dagverblijf de kinderen s'morgens naar school voor een paar uurtjes zodat ze de school leren kennen voordat ze d'r heen gaan.
Ze verzamelen in de bieb en d'r is vanalles te doen, Broc vind meteen de doos met speelgoed.
Broc is going to school next year and the school he is going to is having a program to familiarise the kids that are going to be going there so its not so daunting for them.
Every thursday kindy is taking the kids across the road and they assemble in the libary. Broc soon finds the toybox.

Een van de meisjes uit de groep begint een boekje te lezen en Broc gaat gezellig bij d'r op de stoel zitten.
Then one of the girls in his group is reading a book and he joins in.

familie bezoekje / family visit 11/8/16

Eindelijk dan na lang wachten zijn ze d'r eindelijk.
Wat heerlijk om de Bolletjes hier te hebben, jammer genoeg blijven ze maar 2 nachtjes dus we maken d'r 't beste van.
Ze kwamen pas rond midnacht aan en Broc lag al lang op een oor (en wij ook) ze kwamen gewoon binnen lopen alsof ze hier regelmatig op visite komen de hond schrok zich een hoedje.
De volgende dag hadden we een rondwandeling geregeld op ons werk, Broc vond 't geweldig die heeft altijd al daar rond willen kijken, maar dat kan natuurlijk zomaar niet.
Broc mag met daddy op de pallet mover staan en vind 't geweldig.
Finally they are here.
Mommy's cousin is coming over for a visit with his familie. They only stay for 2 nights so we don't have much time with them.
They arrived after midnight and Broc was fast asleep (so were we). They just walked in because they saw some light in this house and they figured that was us, the dog got the biggest scare.
After a good sleep, the next day we went to our work we asked if we were aloud to show them the place and that was fine.
Broc has been wanting for years to see daddy's work so he was over the moon.

Dan mag ie van daddy de rol deur open en dicht doen.
Then Broc is aloud to push the button to open and close the roller door.

En terwijl we aan 't kijken zijn hoe dat ze hier de dozen op de pallets stapelen, die dan weer met plastic omgewikkeld worden en dan zo de truck in gaan klimt Broc over een andere pallet mover heen.
While we are checking out despatch Broc is climbing all over another mover.

De rondleiding had lang geduurt want de schuur is over 6 hectaren dus d'r is behoorlijk wat te zien, maar als we 't gezien hebben gaan we gezellig met z'n allen ergens lunchen.
Broc en ome Bolletje hebben een milkshake race.
After the tour we are having lunch in a place in town and Broc and uncle Bolletje are having a milkshake race.

We hebben een nieuw stuk grond gekocht om daar te gaan bouwen en wonen en dus gingen we daar heen om 't hun te laten zien.
Tijdens de rond wandeling komen we langs een mooie stronk voor een kiekje.
We bought a new property where we want to build a house and live in it. We can't wait to show the cousins our new future home.
And while we are walking around the place we discover an old burned out tree that just screems for photo's.

Dan laten we zien waar we 't huis willen gaan bouwen en Broc en daddy proberen wat rotsen uit de grond te krijgen.
When we get to the area where we want to build the house Broc helps daddy to dig out some rocks.

Dat gaat goed met die grote stok.
That stick works well.

Weer terug daar waar we de schuur gaan zetten is een kampvuur en daar gaan we lekker ff zitten en kletsen.
Back at where we parked the car and where the shed is going is a kampfire we chill out there for a bit before we go back home again.

Broc is een beetje ondeugend en gaat in 't midden staan, gelukkig is d'r geen vuurtje aan de gang.
Broc is naughty and stands in the middle of it, lucky there is no fire going in there.

We hadden de Bolletjes Broc z'n dubbele deken gegeven en toen ie s'morgens wakker werd was ie heel erg verdrietig want hij wilde z'n monsterjam deken terug en d'r was een huis vol met mensen die die niet kent. Het was allemaal een beetje te veel en uiteindelijk hebben we hem de deken terug gegeven want hij was zo overstuur.
Het was helemaal goed gekomen door de rest van de dag, Broc had al snel in de gaten hoe gezellig 't wel niet was met ze, maar tante Bolletje wilde hem toch graag een cadeautje geven om 't goed te maken.
Enthousiast haalt ie z'n cadeau uit de tas.
Mommy gave her cousins Broc's blanket because it is a dubble and when he woke up that morning he was so upset to see it gone. Then when he walked in the living room he saw why it was gone and he was so upset that they had his blanket. We couldn't calm him down so ended up just giving it back to him and the cousins just got some sleeping bags.
During the day it was all good he soon found out how much fun these people are, but aunty Bolletje wanted to give Broc a little present so we went to the shop to get him something.
He was so exited to see what it was.

Ome Bolletje helpt hem om z'n nieuwe hotwheels city op te zetten en wat een pret.
Uncle Bolltje helps him set up his hotwheels city, they both had a ball.

De volgende morgen vertekken ze weer, wat jammer want was 't leuk.

jumpers and jazz

Jumpers and Jazz is weer aan de gang dus we gaan de versierde bomen weer bewonderen.
D'r is d'r een versierd als een indianen tent and Broc wil d'r in zitten want 't heeft stoeltjes.
Jumpers and Jazz is on again so we're of to look at the trees again.
There is one dressed up like a tipi and Broc want's to sit on the  little chairs inside.

Niet alleen de bomen zijn versierd, maar ook de paaltjes en deze vond Broc zo leuk want hier kon ie net doen of ie de kraan aan deed om de groente in 't tuintje water te geven.
They didn't only dress up the trees but also some poles.
Broc loved this one, because he could pretend watering the veggie patch.

Broc had ook weer voetbal en vandaag gingen ze foto's maken van de teams.
Hij wil nooit niet mee 't veld op om te spelen, maar voor de foto was ie helemaal klaar.
Broc also had soccer again and today they were going to take team photo's, even tho he never want's to play in the field he was all for smiling to have the pickture taken.

Na 't voetballen gingen we weer naar meer bomen kijken en we namen een maatje mee die ook graag de bomen wilde zien.
After soccer we went back to have a look at some more trees and one of his friends wanted to come along with us.

In de week van 't festival is d'r vanalles te doen in 't dorp en in 't winkel centrum zit een vrouwtje die gezichten schilderd en Broc wilde graag batman zijn.
During the festival there is lots to do in town and when we walked through the shopping centre we saw a lady do some face painting and Broc wanted to look like batman.

Op de laatste dag is 't markt en gaan we weer.
Elk jaar doet Broc een zand schilderij en deze keer pikt ie een haai.
They have a market on the last day that the festival is on so we are going to check it out.
Every year Broc can pick a picture to make another sand painting and this time he wanted the shark.

family reunion 7/2016

We hebben een familie reunie van de McLachlan kant.
We hebben een hutje geboekt om daar 't weekend te verblijven.
Poppy ligt in z'n caravan langs ons en als we smorgens wakker worden heeft ie 't ontbijt al snel klaar.
Broc word lekker verwend met cocopops en een sapje.
We have a familie reunion from the McLachlan site and poppy booked us a little hut so we can all stay there for the weekend.
Poppy is in his caravan beside our hut and when we wake up in the morning he gets Broc breakfast ready.
Very spoilt with cocopops and a popper.

Het is een kinder boerderij en zo gauw we beneden aan komen gaan we kijken wat voor soort diertjes ze hebben.
Lache ze hebben konijntjes. Die mogen we bij ons in Queensland niet hebben, maar hier in NSW wel.
Broc vind ze erg leuk.
They also have a little farm here and when we get down to where everyone is we are going to check out the animals.
This is so much fun they have bunny's. Broc loves how soft they are.

D'r loopt ook een geit rond, hij is erg tam en ontsnapt altijd.
Broc loopt hem achterna want die wil hem wel aaien.
They also have a goat and he escapes all the time. He is very tame and Broc tries to pet him but the goat keeps walking to fast for him to catch up.

Eindelijk op 't gras heeft ie 'm te pakken en kan ie 'm aaien.
Finally he stops on the grass and Broc can pet him.

Als we lunchen blijkt de geit ook honger te hebben want hij klimt bijna bij daddy op schoot.
Maar die heeft niks meer alles is op.
When we have lunch the goat almost climbs on daddy's lap he wants some too, but daddy has nothing left.

Dan komt Broc d'r aan met z'n schaaltje fruit en de geit probeert 't af te pakken.
Ja dus echt niet he.
Broc arrives with his fruit bowl and the goat thinks he can steal it of him, but he is wrong Broc is not letting go of his fruit.

Later gaan we een australishe damper (brood) bakken bij 't open vuur.
Het deeg word rondom een stok gerold en deze gaat boven 't vuur tot 't mooi bruin gebakken is.
Later the lady from the farm is teaching everyone what a damper is and she has some dough prepared.
They wrap it around a stick and hold it above the fire.

Mjam mjam with butter and golden syrup

Water en zand zijn toch nog wel steeds Broc z'n favourite speeltjes en hij heeft een bak met zak gevonden, omdat we regen gehad hebben is 't allemaal nat en wat heb je dan.

Broc still loves to play with water and sand and he found a little sand tub, because we had rain it was the ultimate play station and daddy had to come and dig with him.

De andere kinderen zitten allemaal in de roundabout en Broc gaat ook gezellig mee terwijl een andere papa ze allemaal rond duwd.
The other kids are in the roundabout and Broc jumpes up as well.
It was heaps of fun while one of the other daddy's pushed them around.

s'Avonds hebben we sterretjes en Broc vind 't eerst een beetje eng omdat de spetters steeds dichter bij z'n hand komen, maar na een paar stokjes vind ie 't hartstikke leuk.
At night we have sparkelers, first Broc was scared because the fire came closer and closer to his hand, but then he realised they did stop before it burned him and he loved them.

Nog leuker zijn de light staafjes.
Die kunnen als armband, ketting en zelfs in een bal gemaakt worden.
But best of all are the light sticks.
Broc loves them he has armbands, necklaces and even a big boll made from them.

Zondag morgen is 't weer tijd om naar huis te gaan en Poppy neemt Broc achter op de trike mee naar de verzamel hal waar de rest van de familie is.
It's sunday morning and time to head back home again.
Poppy takes Broc on the back to go back down the hill to where the rest of the familie is.

Tante muziek is d'r ook helemaal vanuit HongKong en die wil ook wel mee op de foto.
Poppy en z'n bike zijn erg populair bij iedereen.
Aunty Music organised the party en came over from HongKong.
She wanted to go on the photo with poppy and Broc.

Poppy is terug / Poppy is back home

Eindelijk dan na 6 mnd rond trekken op de trike is poppy weer terug en komt meteen naar ons op visite voor een weekje.
Broc heeft hem zo gemist en rent naar poppy als we hem op komt halen van 't dagverblijf.
For 6 months poppy has been travelling around australia and now he is back home again so straight away he comes to visit us for a few days.
Broc has missed him so much and comes running to him when we pick him up form daycare.

Het is weekend en we gaan wat leuks doen dus besluiten we om naar de dierentuin te gaan.
Het is maar een klein parkje, maar dat geeft niks zo lang we samen maar plezier hebben.
Poppy heeft wat eten gekocht zodat we de diertjes kunnen verwennen en de Emu heeft honger zo te zien.
We want to go and do something fun so we decited to go to the zoo not far from us.
It's only little, but heaps of fun.
Poppy bought some food and the emu must be hungry because he is keen for some.

Dan komt de kangeroe ook een kijkje nemen dus die krijgt ook wat te eten.
The kangaroo comes for a sticky peak and want's to have something to eat as well.

Bij de zebra's gaan we met z'n alle ff op de foto.
We found someone to take a picture of us when we arrive at the zebra's.

De Baboons met d'r grote rode konten wilde niet uit 't hooi komen voor een kiekje, maar als je goed zoekt kun je een rood kontje uit 't strook omhoog zien komen.
The baboons didn't want to go in front of the camera with us, but if you have a good look you can see a big red bottom poking out of the hay somewhere.

De leeuwen bleven lekker liggen waar ze waren die maakte zich niet zo druk en hadden net gegeten tijdens de voorstelling.
The lions couldn't be bothered moving especially since they just had a feed during the show.

Voordat we lekker gaan lunchen ergens in de kroeg gaat Broc nog eventjes de zebra's 't laaste voer geven.
Before we're going for a pub lunch Broc want's to feed the zebra's the last of the food.
