Australia day

Dit jaar gaan we bij vrienden BBQ met Australia day.
Het is een lekker warme dag en hun hebben net een nieuw zwembad dus Broc heeft z'n zwembroek ook meegenomen.
Little miss Ballerina houd Broc goed in de gaten en samen spelen ze lekker in 't water.
It's Australia day and were going to friends place for a BBQ.
Lucky the weather is good because they just have a new pool and Broc is keen to get in the water with little miss Ballerina

Het is een beetje bewolkt, gelukkig hebben we een lekker handoek bij voor als Broc uit 't water komt want de wind is toch vrij fris.
Samen met little miss Ballerina zwaait Broc de Australische vlag, blij om een Ozzie te zijn.
It's a little bit fresh with the wind when they get out of the water, but lucky Broc has a good towel and to show that they are happy to be Ozzie they wave the flag.

Dan word 't tijd om aan eten te denken en hebben de kinderen een leuke taak voor de boeg om mee te helpen koken.
Then it's time to start thinking about food and even the kids can help prepare the meals.

schaatsen in de zomer - ice skating in summer

Het is grote vakantie en in een stadje verderop hebben ze voor de vakantie dagen een schaats baan gemaakt.
Lache daar gaan we dus gezellig naartoe.
De meneer doet Broc z'n schaatsen aan.
It's summer holiday and in a nearby town they have a skate rank set up for this time.
Mommy used to skate a lot when she was little back home so she can't wait to get back to it.
The mister is helping Broc with his skates.

Mommy moet Broc mee op de baan nemen want daddy had bij de eerste stap op 't ijs al bijna gecrashed.
Mommy moest ook ff wennen want die heeft ook al zo'n 19 jaar niet meer op de schaatsen gestaan, maar met kromme benen en ingevallen enkels blijft ze toch overeind.
Mommy has to take Broc onto the ice, because as soon as daddy puts one foot on it he slips and only just kept himself up. Realizing it's more slippery then he thought he passed Broc over to me.
But mommy hasn't been on skates for about 19 years so with some crooked knees and ankles she manages to keep herself up together with Broc.

Als daddy z'n grip een beetje te pakken heeft gaan we samen hand in hand.
Daddy blijft goed dicht bij de kant.
When daddy starts to get the hang of it we are going together hand in hand.
Daddy makes sure he stays close to the wall.

We mogen 2 uur schaatsen maar na een half uurtje heeft daddy toch eventjes wat rust nodig.
We can skate for 2 hours but after half an hour daddy needs a rest

Ondertussen zweten we ons kapot in een koelkast en heeft daddy d'r wel vort vertouwen in dat ie samen met Broc wel een rondje kan schaatsen zodat mommy ook even zelf kan.
Meanwhile we are sweating in a icebox and daddy is confident that he can give mommy a brake and take Broc himself.

Dan nog even proberen of we een zelf verzekerde foto kunnen krijgen van ons op schaatsen, maar Broc heeft 't nog steeds niet te pakken.
We try to get a confident pickture of ourself on the skates, but Broc just hasn't gotten there yet

Na een uurtje kan Broc zelf vort bijna schaatsen maar heeft ie d'r genoeg van en gaat ie lekker wast tv kijken.
Mommy and daddy gaan door met schaatsen en mommy doet per ongeluk een rondje om d'r as als ze afremt. Wonder boven wonder blijft ze overeind en na veel oefening en 1 x vallen heeft ze pyroetje onder controle.
Daddy is de hele tijd overeind gebleven dank zij de muur.
Dit gaan we zeker nog een keer doen, goed voor de lach spieren mommy heeft jaren niet zo hard gelachen.
Broc's had enough after an hour and he wanted to watch the tablet while mommy and daddy keep skating.
Mommy accidentally makes a little circle when she tries to stop, miraculously she stays up and after lots of practice and 1 crash she can do them confident again.
Daddy didn't crash ones (thanks to the wall).
We definitely going to do this again, mommy hasn't laughed this much for years, it was so much fun.

zwemmen in de dam - swimming in the dam

Broc heeft maar een druk leventje als ie niet bij mommy op 't werk is gaat ie naar school, dat zijn lange dagen en ook al vind ie 't kei leuk op school hij is altijd blij om s'middags weer thuis te komen.
Met z'n twee tassen loopt ie trots naar binnen.
Broc lives a busy life, if he is not at work with mommy he goes to school. The school days are very long days and as much as he loves school he is always happy to go back home.
With his 2 bags he walks back in the house.

De volgende dag is 't zo warm dat we na 't werk gaan zwemmen.
Gezellig met z'n 3e naar de dam Pixi mag ook mee.
Broc heeft z'n boogie board bij en probeerd te peddelen.
The next day is a very hot day so after work we go to the dam to cool off.
Pixi can come to.
Broc tries to peddle on his boogie board.

Uiteindelijk heeft ie 't toch onder de knie en gaat 't behoorlijk goed, alleen vind ie 't diepe water niks. Hij kan ook niet zo goed zwemmen zegt ie zelf.
Finally he worked it out, but not to deep because he is not a very good swimmer.

Af en toe gaat ie 't water weer uit om pixi te checken.
Every now and then he goes out of the water to check on Pixi.

Alles is goed met Pixi dus weer terug 't water in.
She is fine so back into the water he goes

dag dag poppy - buy buy poppy

Poppy gaat op vakantie met de trike. Hij gaat een rondje om Australia maken en blijft ongeveer 6 mnd weg.
Voordat ie gaat gaan we gezellig met z'n allen naar 't waterpark.
Daddy en Broc gaan samen op de band door de grote tunnel.
Poppy is going away on his motorbike for about 6 months.
Before he goes we want to spend some quality time with him so we are going to the waterpark.
Broc and daddy are going through the big tunnel on the tube.

Broc probeerd poppy z'n bril af te pakken in 't water want 't glas word nat, maar dan kan poppy niks zien.
Broc tries to take poppy's glasses because the lenses are getting wet, but poppy can't see squat without them.

Broc doet graag vechten en hij daagt poppy uit in 't water.
Broc loves to bull fight and he is challanging poppy.

Ome Sport kan ook lekker stoeien en hij gooit Broc door 't water heen.
Uncle Sport knows how to play rough and he throws Broc through the water.

Dan paardje rijden door 't water.
Piggy back riding is also a big favourite of Broc.

Van al dit zwemmen en spelen krijg je wel honger dus gaan we lekker frietjes eten.
Al this swimming and playing makes you very hungry so we are having some mjamie chippies. 

Het golf zwembad vind Broc maar een beetje eng, maar tante pickture houd 'm goed vast.
Broc is a little bit scared of the waves in the wave pool, but aunty pickture is there to keep him safe.

En ze maakt 't ook nog leuk in die golven.
And she helps Broc have fun in the waves.

Even rusting zitten met poppy in 't ondiepe water waar de golven ze niet omver gooien.

Voordat we weer gaan nog even acrobaten met uncle Sport en tante Pickture
Before we go Broc is doing some stunts with uncle Sport and aunty Pickture.

't zit 'm niet mee - bad luck for Broc

Broc werd wakker met een dik oog.
Het lijkt wel of ie door iets onder z'n oog gestoken is.
Broc woke up with a swollen eye, it looks like a musquito has bitten him right under the eye.

s'Avonds is 't nog steeds gezwollen,maar gelukkig heeft ie d'r geen last van.
Of misschien is z'n mond ook een beetje gezwollen want zeveren kan ie wel tijdens 't eten.
It's still swollen that evening, but he says it doesn't hurt so that's good.
Maybe it has affected his mouth to because looks like there is more food on the outside then on the inside.

Daddy heeft weer iets nieuws bedacht, zo kan Broc z'n auto toch rijden en daddy maar trappen met mommy z'n fiets.
Harder daddy harder.
Daddy is full of ideas and now he thought of a way how Broc can ride his car even tho it's hasn't worked for years.

En toen had Broc luizen.
Op school hebben ze last van luizen en natuurlijk word Broc ook niet overgeslagen.
Ze hebben 'm ook gevonden en daddy behandeld Broc z'n haar zodat ze weg gaan.
And then Broc had lice,
They are having a lice problem at school and of course the little suckers didn't miss him.
Daddy puts the stuff in his hair to get rid of them.

Nadat 't spul d'r in zit een mooie groene muts op en maar koken met die handel.
When the stuff is in Broc hair he gets a fun grean hat, let those suckers cook.

1e kerst dag - Xmas day

Broc is al vroeg op vandemorgen en kan niet wachten met 't uitpakken van z'n cadeautje.
Hij pakt de grootste uit de hoop en toevallig is dat wat de kerstman heeft gebracht.
Broc is up earlie he can't wait to see what Santa brought him.
He grabs the biggest present from under the tree and starts to open it. This is the one Santa gave him

Dan 't cadeautje van poppy z'n cousin.
Deze keer vind ie de lawaaierige stuiterende bal geweldig, een paar jaar geleden rende die d'r hard van weg.
After that he picks the present he got from poppies cousin.
He is loving the noisy, bouncy ball.
A couple of years ago this same ball set him off in tears because it frightened him.

Nou poppy heeft ook weeer goed gescoord dit jaar met een water kanon voor in de boomhut.
Poppy bought a water canon for in the tree house, this was a great success.

De kerstman z'n cadeautje valt ook in goede aarde wel makkelijk dat je die bal niet achtena hoeft te rennen.
Santa's present is lots of fun you can play this all by yourself.

En wat nog leuker is dat je 't of alleen kunt doen of met z'n tweeen.
Or even better with someone else.

Die gekke oma gaat op de wip, 
That crazy oma on the seasaw.

Ome Sport en tante foto hebben ook een geweldig cadeautje bij. Maar goed dat ome Sport warm bloed heeft want 't weer is nou niet echt warm genoeg om in 't koude water te spelen.
Uncle Sport and aunty Pickture also bought a fun game. Good thing Uncle Sport is warm blooded because the weather wasn't really hot enough for anyone else to play in the cold water. Or is it maybe no Brain no pain ;)

Even Tonka wants to join in the fun.

En Rubble on the Double is helemaal van plastic dus die kan ook in 't water.
And because Ruble on the Double is made of plastic he can play in the water as well.

Het was een gezellig dagje met de familie dus we maken even een groeps foto.
Wat a fun day, let's make a group photo.

Kerst avond - Xmas eve

Het is kerst avond en om d'r maar zeker van te zijn dat de kerstman vanavond bij ons aan komt heeft Broc van daycare een zakje meegekregen met rendier voer.
It's xmas eve and to make sure Santa is going to come by our place daycare gave Broc a little bag with reindeer food in it.

Daddy heeft Broc z'n boomhuis versierd met lightjes dus dat zal zeker de kerstman z'n aandacht trekken.
Broc gaat de boom rond en strooit 't voer onderweg over 't gras.
Daddy dressed Broc's tree house with lights so Santa will have to be blind if he misses our place now.
Broc sprinkels all the reindeer food around the tree.

Voordat we naar bed gaan nog eventjes de datum door kruisen en nu maar hopen dat 't snel morgen is.
Before Broc goes to bed he gets to mark of the calendar on the door.

Voordat mommy en daddy naar bed gaan is de kerstman langs geweest en heeft een paar pakjes bij de boom d'r bij gelegd. Het ligt d'r behoorlijk vol nu.
Before we go to bed Santa popped in and put a couple more presents under the tree.
It is looking very full now.

Broc's schilderij - Broc's painting

Mommy wil graag een levensgroot portret van Broc schilderen dus gingen we d'r op uit om wat foto's te maken.
Pixi gaat ook op 't doek dus die moet ook mee op de foto.
We hebben een mooi zandpad hier in de buurt waar we de foto's gaan maken.
Mommy want's to paint a life size picture of Broc, so we going to take some photo's that mommy can use for this.
Pixi is going on the picture as well so she has to come to.

Het was zo mooi groen in de Berm dat mommy daar ook ff wat foto's van wil hebben voor 't geval.
The side of the road was looking so pretty and green, so mommy took some photo's in there as well.

Daddy vond Broc z'n hoofd doek maar niks en Mommy was d'r ook nog niet helemaal zeker van dus achter in de tuin worden d'r ook nog wat foto's gemaakt.
Daddy didn't like Broc's bandanna and mommy wasn't sure what picture to use so we made more pictures in the back yard.

Hij moet naar mommy lopen, maar Broc heeft 't vort helemaal gehad met de foto's en rennen is veel leuker.
Broc has to walk to mommy, but he has had enough and want's to play so he decides he is running instead.

Omdat de foto's allemaal van afstand zijn wil mommy ook wat foto's van dichtbij zodat sommige dingen wat duidelijker zijn.
De enigste manier om Broc stil te houden is om 'm op de wip-wap te zetten.
All the photo's are of distance so mommy want's some up close for better details.
The only way to keep Broc sit still is by putting him on the sea-saw.

De foto's zijn gekozen en aan 't schilderij word gewerkt.
Mommy chose what picture she wants to use and started her painting.
